Grant funding has been obtained from the United States Forest Service through the Grants Clearing House of the California State Fire Safe Council. The purpose of the grant is to provide roadside fuel reduction in the subdivision of Sierra Springs in Pollock Pines, CA as well as create a 5 acre shaded fuel break. The objective of the treatment is to reduce surface and ladder fuels, to achieve canopy spacing to mitigate the threat of wildfire to private property, and to provide safe ingress of fire equipment and egress of evacuees.
