Ken Hasse called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM and reminded attendees to sign the attendance sheet.

Announcements:

• The Logtown Fire Safe Council Hot Dog Social will be held October 28. Flyers have been distributed. Please RSVP by October 21.
   
• The Logtown Community Wildfire Protection Plan has been received from the printers and will be posted on the EDCFSC web site. Included will be maps of the evacuation routes.
   
• Burn suspension has been lifted. Call 622-5897 the day you plan on burning and be fire safe!
   
• GWCSD (Golden West Community Service District) has openings for a secretary and a board member.

General Discussions:

• Hydrant Checks - Bari McDaniel
  Flow Checks will be performed on many of the hydrants now that the proper equipment has been obtained. The project is almost completed. Pat Dwyer, Rich Englefield and Bari perform the checks on Mondays.
   
• Verizon Wireless - Steve Smith
  Verizon will be replacing the current antenna at station 44 with a new 110 foot antenna Construction is anticipated to begin in February or March of 2008. Pictures of the current and proposed antenna were distributed.
   
• EDCFSC (El Dorado County Fire Safe Council) Update – Ken Hasse
  At the last meeting of the EDCFSC a list of the projects proposed by all the fire safe councils in the county were submitted. The Logtown projects were added to the list.
   
  The chipper and green waste disposal programs are out of funds. Grants are being sought to continue these programs.
   
  The Senior Assistance Program is awaiting a coordinator. A defensible space inspection report will be required for each request. Contact Ken if you know of someone who is interested in the program.
   
• Neighborhood Coordinator Update
   

  Blue (Oak Ridge N, Sodalite)	The phone tree is incomplete and is being worked on.
  Yellow (N Crystal)	Hot dog picnic flyers will distributed today.
  Green (Quartz, Stope)	Pat Dwyer was unable to attend the meeting but Ken Hasse stated that the hot dog picnic flyers have been distributed.
  Orange (Dolomite)	Hot Dog Picnic flyers have been distributed and work is ongoing on the phone tree.
  Red (Central Crystal)	Flyers have been distributed.
  Silver (Monitor)	A permanent coordinator is needed for the Silver zone. All the flyers have been distributed.
  Black (S Crystal)	Only 17 completed questionnaires have been received out of 90 households.

  
   
• The Hot Dog Picnic Social was discussed.
  • Signs will be put up a few days before the event to remind people of the event. Door prizes are being solicited. Some members have already donated items.
     
  • People are encouraged to bring a side dish.
     
  • Email addresses are being obtained on a continuing basis.
     
  • Gene Murphy who did the Log Town Community Wildfire Protection Plan was recently thanked at the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council meeting.
     
  • T-shirts and caps for the Neighborhood Coordinators are on order.
     
  • A suggestion was made to have name tags at the Hot Dog Social.
