Additional Information

9/25/2015 The Defensible Space Evaluation program is volunteer-based and offered through the Pollock Pines–Camino Fire Safe Council (PPCFSC) and the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council (EDCFSC), a non-profit organization serving these communities. The goal of this program is to help educate homeowners to understand the vegetation clearance requirements necessary to meet California Public Resource code 4291, to create proper fire clearance around their residence.

Pollock Pines – Camino Fire Safe Council offers a free residential vegetation clearance evaluation of the Property. Homeowners will be asked to sign a release of liability form Prop Owner Release Form prior to our volunteers starting the evaluation. If interested in having your property evaluated, email Heather @ ppcfiresafecouncil@gmail.com

9/16/2015 Is there a large empty lot, overgrown with vegetation next to your home?? Thanks to a member of the El Dorado County Book Club, we now have a step by step guide for how to look up the contact information of the property owner. Finding the Owner of a Parcel

Example-Property-Owners-letter is a letter you can copy and use as a template. Create your own letter to notify the parcel owner of the potential wildfire danger to your home. Send a certified letter and keep a copy of it, if your determined enough to go the extra mile by trying to get CAL FIRE involved.

Lastly, here is a letter sent to the EDCFSC Fire Safety Council Cover Letter sharing a success story from the person who used the internet to find the parcel owners mailing address, developed the guide, and got results.
