The Art of Native Plants @ Wakamatsu Farm - Placerville

Celebrate the many gifts of California native plants with the American River Conservancy in collaboration with the El Dorado Chapter of the California Native Plant Society.

  • Enjoy special guests, including author of “Tending the Wild,” M. Kat Anderson, discussing her new book. 
  • Chat with the Coloma-Lotus Fire Safe Council, and ask us how we can help you maintain your defensible space, get a free home assessment, or select fire resistant native plants for your home landscape.
  • View artists’ work, see demonstrations inspired by native flora, and participate in hands-on activities.
  • Shop for native plants, seeds, art, and merchandise to help support a sustainable future.
  • Visit information booths featuring local experts to learn about biodiversity and related topics.

  • 10:00AM - Event begins
  • 11:30AM to 1:00PM - Book talk with M. Kat Anderson, storytelling by Kimberly ShiningStar Petree, music by Hither & Yon
  • 2:00PM - Event ends
