The Rancho Del Sol Fire Safe Council (RDSFSC) is an independent nonprofit community-led organization that is part of the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council (EDCFSC). The RDSFC is not sponsored or funded by the Rancho Del Sol Property Owners Association and its Board. It operates on funds received through private donations, fundraising events, and grants.

The RDSFSC is led by an executive board of directors (E-Board) that are approved by the EDCFSC on a yearly basis. The current board consists of a chair, vice-chair, secretary, treasurer, and member at large. The rest of the Council is made up of an unlimited number of volunteers from the community who are interested in joining the effort in making Rancho Del Sol (RDS) a safer place to live.

The mission of the Rancho Del Sol Fire Safe Council is to mobilize residents to protect their homes, property, and community from catastrophic wildfires. One of our key goals is to develop an emergency preparedness plan for the community before another wildfire occurs. This proactive measure minimizes loss of life and valuable assets at risk of being destroyed by wildfire. It may also increase the insurability of properties by increasing community safety.

The Fire Safe Council is actively seeking residents to participate because we cannot do this work without your help. Volunteers are needed to help with green waste and chipping events, common area clean-ups, education and outreach programs, fundraising, grant writing, Firewise USA® compliance and renewal, evacuation planning, and more. We welcome all members of the RDS Community.
